School Information

Our administrative team is dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all students, families, and staff. Student identity (race, culture, socioeconomic and family status, national origin, language, ability, gender, gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation) should not predict or predetermine success in school. Our mission is to foster each individual student's growth academically, emotionally, and socially by challenging, engaging, and inspiring all students, allowing them to reach their potential. We endeavor to provide each student with diverse, relevant, and rigorous educational opportunities.Student voice is at the forefront of the work that we do as a staff. We provide differentiated instructional strategies to ensure that students have access to curriculum in ways that best meet their learning style needs. Healthy emotional wellbeing is the catalyst for student growth and a high attendance rate. The school community works to educate the whole child with a number of enrichment opportunities, electives, student clubs, and extracurricular activities. These all work together to connect students and families to our school community.

Cheldelin Middle School was built in 1967. Our school was named in honor of Vernon H. Cheldelin, the founding director of the institute of Science at Oregon State University and a long-time member of the Corvallis School Board. We are the home of the Cougars and our colors and our enrollment is approximately 600 students in grades six through eight.

We welcome you to the Cheldelin community!
